Scroll #4 - Knowing Your Strengths

No comments :
People are born unique and different. That means, IB students are not the same, even though they CLEARLY went through the same hurdles in their teenage lives (I'm referring to the IB).

Perhaps you are familiar with this IB student who rarely does homework, always comes late to school, prioritising social life, etc., BUT STILL GET GOOD GRADES!!!! Believe me or not, THEY DO EXIST in this IB world. They are called the effortless IB fighters. They were born to top the IB. No matter how much they hate IB and school, their grades will always be above yours.

A random oversensitive IB student: "WHAT DO YOU MEAN ALWAYS? YOU MUST BE THINKING I DON'T STAND A CHANCE TO WIN AGAINST HER, RIGHT? WHY ARE YOU SO RUDE TO ME? LEAVE ME ALONE!"

A random oversensitive IB student's face:

Why are you so sensitive, sir? Every fighter has their own uniqueness and ways to cope with IB. The effortless fighters might be coping well with IB because that's how they do life, they need to make sure life and IB is balanced. THAT IS ONE GOOD EXAMPLE.

Some people find it better if they are full, that's why some of the best IB fighters are eating-machines. They eat like cows. Hard to stop. What if they are in a test and there is no food? Easy, just eat 30 minutes before the test. The food that we consume takes a long time to digest, could be more than a day (that's why some people don't go for #2 everyday). That's why, eating before tests will provide you with energy to concentrate on the test.

Some others find studying much easier when they are accompanied. These people will find themselves more focus on a task when they do it while talking or listening to others. (p.s. this is never my strength, EVER). How about when the test comes? What happens if they have no company at all? That's even easier. Talk to yourself. Not verbally, but, you know, inside your brain. Whenever you feel troubled, just speak with your inner voice. You can even make up the answers you wanted. It's easy and free.

On the contrary, there are a lot of IB students (like me) who value silence and peacefulness to maximize focus level. This are of great advantage during exams where everyone is forced to stay quiet, not unless some of the students purposely create noise to annoy other students.

There are also people who gain their power by listening to music while studying, sing or hum while doing a certain task. During tests, these people usually sing on their minds or creates musical noises to make themselves focus.

There are many IB students in this life and each are valuable in their own ways. Therefore, it is best to stay proud of who you are and improve from within.

Know your strengths and control them. It is very beneficial in the future.

I have my semester exams starting tomorrow. Need to sleep.

Wish me luck.

Sorry for the short scroll. Will be edited.

Scroll #3 - Increase HP (Health Points)

You do know what is health point (HP) I am talking about, don't you? Even when you are not a gamer you'd probably know what HP literally means, wouldn't you? Still don't know? How about this:
Picture taken from: googol

yep, for you beginners, health point is like those hearts that resembles your life in a game. If you're attacked then you'd get hurt and your health decreases. Nonetheless, if you take some rest or consume some herbs, your health point will be restored. That's exactly the same in real life, but of course you'll really die when your HP is 0%, you're just an ordinary IB fighter, aren't you?

Okay, As soon as you read through this post, I will not guarantee that you'll be immortal........................BUT WORRY NOT, MY FRIENDS! The Chamber of Energy will reveal the secrets to maintain and increase HP to you restless IB fighters! I guarantee this will help you to live healthily despite of all the breakdowns you've encountered all through IB.

1. Eat what you need.
That is very true, ladies and gents. Eat what you need (it rhymes, by the way). If you notice, in certain games, different kinds of wounds or diseases are cured using specific herb or magical potion. If they consume the wrong potion or herb then the wound will not be cured, and the wrong potion will be useless and wasted. Now what's the connection with IB you said? Well... I have some known facts about IB students habits while trying to survive the IB and they're compiled right here!

- Many IB students eat so quickly during breakfast and lunch. Sometimes dinner. That's because they have some reports to print or undone homework to do. EVERYTHING IS DUE AFTER SNACK OR LUNCH OR AFTER SCHOOL.

- Many IB students skip breakfast or lunch or even dinner. Of course it's BECAUSE OF THE SAME REASONS.

- Many IB students do not get sufficient sleep after squeezing their brains out to do a certain homework or to write certain labs or to study for tests and quizzes. Therefore, to keep themselves alert, they often drank coffee in the morning, after school, and even at night when they repeat their miserable life cycle.

- NOT ONLY COFFEE. Some who are not into coffee rely on snacks or even heavy meals full of carbs. As for me... when I feel like I'm in serious mess (meaning all those homework and test are happening on the same day and that's tomorrow, plus I feel terribly sleepy), I will unconsciously go to the fridge, get the whole ice cream, carry it to my room, lock myself in with only ice cream, bed and laptop, and then I'll regret everything, including taking the IB I'll sometimes eat uncontrollably. Yeah, that's it.

- NOT ALL IB STUDENTS DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR FOOD INTAKE, THOUGH. I once heard my friends having this conversation:
A: "Oh is that ******? (a brand of healthy snack) Can I have one? I heard it's non-cholesterol. Oh It has like *** (numerical amount) calories inside. That's the amount I need for the rest of the day."
B: "Yeah, of course. You know what? I've been eating this very delicious cake my mom gave me the other day and I realised I was overeating. The calories were over **** (numerical amount) and I might get fat."
A: "OMG me too! It was like, every time I want to eat something I checked the calorie amount and feel so regretful not being able to eat it. We have to do it because it's what we need. To get healthy!"

AND I WAS SITTING RIGHT THERE BESIDE THEM EATING GREASY GRILLED CHICKEN WITH RICE WITH THIS EXPRESSION:
Picture taken from: google

I mean... why would they be overly conscious about the numerical figures? Can't they just eat without concerning about the aftereffect? Can't they just enjoy the food? (p.s. I am a food lover so...)

OH I ALMOST FORGET!

What are the skills to eat what you need?

A. Go for a regular health checkup, ask a doctor or nutritionist about your nutrient deficiency. Doctors and nutritionists are very skilled in identifying that, you know.
B. List down what food you should consume more or what food you should eat less.
C. A LITTLE CARBS WOULDN'T HURT.
D. A LITTLE FAT WOULDN'T HURT.
E. A LITTLE PROTEIN WOULDN'T HURT.
F. HOWEVER, TOO MUCH OF EITHER ONE OF THEM MAKES YOU ILL.

2. Exercise like mice
Another sentence that rhymes. The mice generally mean hamsters, but you know, rodents aren't slackers themselves so they will be enough.

Yeah, this sentence simply means what it means. In certain games, when the player level up, they gain more life or health points. Leveling up is not easy, the player needs to perform more, win more, defeat more enemies, and all these could be achieved by doing the action over and over again. The higher the level, the harder it is to increase health points. So, repetition of actions will be needed even more than the usual.

It's the same as IB. If you want to pass the test, practice from past papers. Once a day will be more than enough! If you want to increase HP, do some sports. Once or twice a week will do, don't you think? It's about time you burn those fats in your stomach. Oh, and burn your stress as well!

A random lazy IB student: "Wha.... but I can't do sports. I don't even have time to do my homework during the weekend."

Oh. Then what did you do?

A random lazy IB student: "What else? I sleep, eat and watch TV. Sooooo tired of studying."

A random lazy IB student's face:
Picture taken from: google.com

HP: Probably 1.45%

No wonder why your face is so fatigue. YOUR HP IS VERY LOW INDEED. I suggest you do this EMERGENCY HP INCREASING METHOD. It will not permanently increase your HP but it may get you re-energised for about 4 to 5 more hours. Now follow me closely:

A. BE HONEST
B. GET UP FROM WHEREVER YOU'RE SITTING OR SLEEPING ON. IMMEDIATELY.
C. STRETCH YOUR ARMS. STRETCH YOUR WAIST AND BACK.
D. STRETCH SOME MORE (THE SOUND OF JOINTS ARE VERY RELAXING).
E. GO TO THE NEAREST WATER SOURCE (BATHROOM OR SINK).
F. SPLASH YOUR FACE WITH COLD WATER.
G. YOUR HP IS NOW INCREASED BY 23%.

By now you should learn how to:
1. eat according to your needs
2. exercise regularly (academic wise or physical health wise).
3. THINK GAMING IS AN ART OF LIFE.

Greetings, IB Fighters!

4 comments :
Are you currently taking the IB (Insane Beings International Baccalaureate) Diploma Programme? Do you feel a constant headache every time you have lab reports due the next day and you haven't done anything? Do you think of yourself as a zombie because you rarely sleep like an ordinary human? Have you ever talked to your laptop like, "Hang on, baby, don't crash now. I haven't saved the edited draft."? Or, have you ever thought of dropping this programme and run to another island to live peacefully alone? Well, you're neither weird nor you have a mental problem. You're just having a great fight with the IB.

To make it easier to understand, think of yourself as a fighter in a game of life, and IB is your ultimate enemy (you know, like the boss). You've saved the game just before the final fight with the boss so every time you get defeated, you can repeat the game from the last checkpoint. IB in real life is a lot like that, too. As a fighter, you have to learn plenty of skills to increase your power in order to fight the boss. That is why you study a lot of things through the two years of IB programme, it is designed to teach IB fighters the skills to fight the IB.

A random skeptical IBDP student: "So you're saying that doing IB is as easy as playing games?"

Precisely.

A random annoying IBDP student"...But how exactly do we learn the useful IB-fighting skills if we can't even cope with IB programme's rigorous study methods? Like, I haven't even mastered the skill of lab reports and the teachers gave me another skill to do EE and CAS and TOK. Not to mention the other subject tests that are, like, SO beyond my capabilities."

Random skeptical and annoying IBDP students faces:

Don't worry, my dear friends, for you have come to the right place to learn the useful skills to fight the IB AND to cope with the IB programme. I PRESENT YOU..............

*drum roll*

*more drum rolls to make it more intense*

THE CHAMBER OF ENERGY!

Formal greetings from the chamber master:
Hello surviving and new IB fighters! Welcome to the Chamber of Energy. This chamber of positive energy will train you useful skills to survive the two-year fight with the IB and provide you with tips to cope with the studies in the IB programme. For those of you who are not familiar with the IB yet, allow me to explain a little bit about it.

What is IB?
IB is an abbreviation of Insane Beings International Baccalaureate. The final fighters are those in IBDP, or the Diploma Programme students. It is a programme with level equivalent to high school, but a lot more stressful fun! For 16 to 19-year-old IB fighters, there are quite a lot of available IB programmes you can choose depending on your physical and mental condition your future needs, such as  IB Diploma Programme and IB Career-related Cerfiticate. Both programmes require a lot of dedication and effort, but, according to my experience and sufficient knowledge about the IB, I would say the most ridiculous and suicidal most challenging programme is the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP).

According to the web:
The IB Diploma Programme (DP) is an academically challenging and balanced programme of education with final examinations that prepares students, aged 16 to 19, for success at university and life beyond. It has been designed to address the intellectual, social, emotional and physical well-being of students.

Final greetings from the chamber master:
Interesting, isn't it? Now, if you want to increase your level so that you can fight the IB easily, you are welcome to visit our page and read through our scrolls (as in blog posts). IT'S USEFUL AND IT'S FREE.

So..............

WHO'S UP TO DO IB?
